Independent Contractor Network

An Associate Network, Not a Traditional Employer

Dasdey Behavioural Services Inc. connects families, agencies, schools, and residential programs with a network of qualified, independent behavioural support professionals. Our associates are self-employed professionals who operate their own practice and contract with Dasdey on an engagement-by-engagement basis to provide specialized behavioural support services across the Greater Toronto Area.

We are not a traditional employer. Associates in our network set their own availability, accept or decline engagements, manage their own businesses, and are responsible for their own tax and regulatory obligations. If you are an experienced behavioural support professional who values independence and flexibility, we would like to hear from you.

Network Model

What Makes Our Associate Network Different

Negotiated Rates

Associate rates are negotiated per engagement based on service type, complexity, and associate credentials. You invoice Dasdey at the agreed rate plus HST.

You Set Your Availability

You determine when and where you work. Accept the engagements that fit your schedule and decline those that don't. There is no minimum hour commitment.

Independent Practice

You operate as a self-employed professional under your own business name (if applicable), with your own HST registration, WSIB coverage, and professional insurance. You are responsible for managing your own practice and tax obligations.

Diverse Engagements

Associates have access to a variety of engagement types across families, agencies, group homes, schools, and day programs, giving you flexibility in the type of work you take on.

Prerequisites

Associate Requirements

To be considered for engagements through Dasdey's network, associates must meet the following minimum prerequisites. These are not employment requirements. They are the qualifications and protections necessary to deliver specialized behavioural support as an independent contractor.

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in a relevant discipline (CYW, DSW, BSW, BA, BST, etc.)
  • Minimum 2 years of paid experience working with individuals with challenging behaviours
  • Current Ministry-approved crisis intervention training (CPI, NVCI, UMAB, or SMG)
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Screening (renewed annually)
  • Registered HST number (or willingness to register)
  • WSIB Independent Operator registration or exemption
  • Commercial General Liability insurance ($2M minimum)
  • Professional Liability insurance ($1M minimum)
  • Valid driver's licence and automobile insurance with $2M liability (if driving for engagements)
  • Eligible to work in Canada
Engagement Process

How Engagements Work

1

Apply to the Network

Submit your qualifications through our intake form. We review submissions to confirm you meet the minimum prerequisites.

2

Network Onboarding

Qualified applicants enter into a Master Independent Contractor Agreement with Dasdey. This agreement sets out the terms under which individual engagements may be offered. It does not create an employment relationship or guarantee any specific engagements.

3

Engagement Offers

When we have an engagement that matches your qualifications, location, and availability, we offer it to you. You can accept or decline. Each engagement is its own independent contract with specific terms (client, dates, service type, rate).

4

Deliver Services

You deliver services directly to the client using your own methods, within the scope of the engagement. You manage your own schedule, approach, and professional judgment.

5

Invoice and Payment

You submit an invoice to Dasdey for completed engagements at your agreed rate plus HST. Payment is processed on standard net terms.

Independent Contractor Classification

All associates in the Dasdey network operate as independent contractors, not employees. This classification is fundamental to how we operate and is reflected in the Master Independent Contractor Agreement.

As an independent contractor working with Dasdey, you:

  • Operate your own business and control how services are delivered within the scope of each engagement
  • Are free to accept or decline any engagement we offer
  • Are free to work with other agencies, families, and clients simultaneously (we do not require exclusivity)
  • Are responsible for your own taxes (income tax, HST, CPP contributions)
  • Are responsible for your own WSIB coverage and insurance
  • Are not entitled to any employment-related benefits (vacation pay, sick leave, employment insurance, termination notice)

Dasdey does not provide: salary, benefits, paid leave, employment insurance, or any other employee-exclusive entitlements. We do not direct your work methods, require set hours beyond the scope of each engagement, or restrict your ability to work with others.

If you are seeking traditional employment, Dasdey is not the right fit. We partner exclusively with experienced professionals who operate as independent businesses.

For full terms, all network associates must review and sign the Master Independent Contractor Agreement before any engagement is offered.
